We often get asked what options are available for sound proof doors. Our CS SoundStop cavity slider has been developed as a method of reducing sound transmission between rooms. Along with all the benefits of standard CS cavity sliders, the CS SoundStop also features measured acoustic ratings up to STC 42.Â
These units are supplied complete with a specialised acoustic door panel when an acoustic rating above STC 31 is required. A brush seal is fitted to the bottom of the door, vertical and horizontal jamb seals are attached to both sides of the door, and a seal bar to the door's back edge. Â
The CS SoundStop Cavity Slider is suitable for boardrooms, meeting rooms or any other area requiring a level of privacy, and are commonly specified in hotels, auditoriums, television studios and function rooms.Â
- Tested by Acoustic Testing Services Ltd
- Available as single or bi-parting units
- Fits into a standard thickness wall with 90mm framing
- Supplied fully assembled for on-site installation.Â
For situations where a lower STC rating is adequate, we have a sound rated option for our AluTec door. It has been tested by Auckland Uniservices Limited to an approved rating of STC 36 when used with our SoundStop Cavity Slider.
A cavity slider with solid core timber door or CS NewYorker with 10mm thick glass are best used for situations where acoustic dampening is desired but not critical, such as bathrooms or media rooms in homes. Brush seals can also be added to the jambs and bottom of the door to reduce the standard gap.
